Leaf Capital Corporate Finance was the corporate advisor to GPI in relation to the formation of a R100m Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Trust (the “BEE Trust”). The BEE Trust was established to uplift and develop black females who live in the communities in which GPI’s businesses and investee companies operate, while the black ownership structure will also serve to increase and entrench the level of female black ownership in GPI, thereby benefitting all shareholders given GPI’s status as an empowerment company. Leaf Capital advised GPI in relation to the optimal structuring, funding and implementation of the BEE Trust. The BEE Trust was approved by GPI shareholders in December 2013.

This transaction continues Leaf Capital’s strong track record of implementing empowerment deals.
