Shaun joined Leaf Capital’s Property division in 2012.
Shaun has a passion for property and over the years has built up vast networks and a detailed understanding of the property industry. While at Leaf Capital he successfully managed and grew the Silver Leaf Property Fund. Prior to joining Leaf Capital he worked at Old Mutual Property Investments for six years and was responsible for investment sales and acquisitions of the various funds across the regions and portfolios. His expertise ranges from fund management, property financing, development, leasing, to valuations, strategy and research.
He is also involved in strategic business initiatives on behalf of Leaf Capital including being Lead Advisor to Cube Asset Management.

Jacqui Hathorn established Leaf Capital in 2004, together with Paul Leaf-Wright. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce C.A.I.B. degree. During her years in the banking sector, Jacqui’s activities included chairing regional credit committees, due diligence on acquisitions, formation and operations of BEE alliances, international and local mergers of major business and the disposal of non-core companies.
Jacqui held various roles in BoE (subsequently Nedbank Ltd). These included managing private wealth operations, head of finance, Head of strategy, and merger integration.
While working at Leaf Capital Jacqui began in the Corporate Finance division. She then moved on to establish the Leaf Private Equity fund (now known as Infinitus). At times Jacqui has placed her focus on Leaf Capital’s property division. Currently Jacqui currently overseas the South African operations at Leaf Capital.

Tom joined Leaf Capital in March 2014 as Financial Director of the Leaf Property Fund. Tom played a key role in the R4bn sale of property assets to Redefine Properties Limited and has now assumed overall responsibility for Leaf’s South African property interests, which also includes Silver Leaf Property Fund.
He is a Chartered Accountant having gained his qualification through KPMG (Cape Town) in 2002. Prior to joining Leaf Capital, Tom spent 10 years in the UK working largely in the Financial Services Industry. He has extensive financial and business development experience from his previous roles at Barclays, Aviva and Genworth Financial.

He subsequently held various roles in NBS Bank and BoE (subsequently Nedbank Ltd) which included financial and strategy director, head of treasury, director of property and asset finance, and head of wealth management.
Paul has also served on the boards of many listed companies. During his years in the banking sector his roles included running the bank’s private equity division, co-ordinating mergers and acquisitions of both the bank and third party deals, establishment of BEE companies and funding of a wide range of projects
Having established Leaf Capital, Paul remains a consultant to the Leaf Capital business units and serves as chairman of the boards of the companies making up the Leaf group.

She moved across to Infinitus Holdings in 2016 as financial manager, and re-joined the Leaf Capital team in 2021 to run finance and compliance across certain group entities.

Velesca studied at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and completed a National Diploma in Accounting. She has recently completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Accounting) part-time through the University of South Africa. Velesca has always worked in finance and provides valuable support to the finance team.
As part of the finance team Velesca does the accounting for various entities within the Leaf Capital group and is responsible for the audit preparations of all entities. She serves as the liaison with suppliers and external parties and does the invoicing for the Corporate Finance team as well as the Property Group.
